Welcome all Americans with spines!

Please forgive this brief (yet sincere) welcome but it is late and I must soon retire to bed.
"Late? But it is not yet 10:00 pm," you say.
This is true. To some people it might not be late. But see, I am a working American.

I, and my spouse, have full time jobs and must be to work early, even before the sun wakes up.

We do not live off of welfare.

We do not look to government for a handout, nor do we feel that we deserve one.

We do not live in a large and spacious home that we cannot afford.

We do not have thousands of dollars of credit card or other unnecessary debt.

We do not want to be taken care of.

We do believe in the core values that this country was founded on.
- Hard work
- Honesty
- Integrity
- Self-reliance and being rewarded for your efforts

We do our part to be good citizens, co-workers, friends, family, and neighbors.

Now I admit that I am not a political scholar. I don't know the right things to say at the right time but I do know that I believe in doing the right thing just because it is the right thing and I want to meet people with similar views.

I want to provide a place for people to meet and discuss how we feel about the current conditions that we find ourselves in. Some of us will know each other and some of us will not. That is ok with me. I just need to know that there are still people out there that share similar beliefs and values.

So why the title "death2pirates"? To be honest I have plagiarized the line from a friend and I do so respectfully. We have been watching the current situation with these . . . hell I don't even know what to call them. These people that have been hijacking ships. They really bother me but what bothers me worse is our governments (our employees) response to them.
Are we really so powerless? Are we really so weak?

Is it really possible for a few uneducated nothing-to-add to the world hooligans to hold the United States Navy hostage? I think something is wrong here. The pirates are a metaphor for our current situation.

Let's start a discussion.

Agree with me.

Disagree with me.

I want to know if there is anyone else out there that feels like I do. Or am I all alone?

Tell your friends about this blog.

Let it grow till it rivals the size of our grotesque and bloated government.

I embrace sarcasm, or anger, or levity. Use whatever emotion you desire.

Just speak out.

I'm a cynic that doesn't believe that anyone is listening.

Prove me wrong.

  1. I listened! I'm a friend of your plaigarized friend. I agree with you on this. I have generated quite the debate on my Facebook page over the ridiculous "leadership" we have. I will be adding your blog to my favs and spreading the word. Nice intro by the way!

  2. I personally think that political power corrupts leadership no matter what the party. I believe that some politicians become so removed from reality that they actually believe that what they are doing is what the people want and/or need. I am not an optimistic soul by nature, but I am typically laid back. That laid back demeanor starts to disintegrate quickly when I start thinking about bail outs going to people that knowingly purchased houses that they couldn't afford. I make decent money and when I bought my house I was pre-approved for an ungodly amount of money. I could have made the choice to live it up and choose a luxurious house that would have taken 80 percent of my salary, but I like to think that I have a wee bit of intelligence and I chose a house that may not be as big or nice, but I don't have to worry if I can afford the mortgage from month to month.

I say let's have a raffle and if you win the raffle the navy air drops into the ocean and lets you climb onto the fin of a destroyer. They had you a sniper rifle and a full clip and say "There's the pirates, have fun!"

  3. If I weren't so tired and didn't have to be back in to work at 2:30 in the am i would take the bait and get riled up by your post and go off.

Instead I will just say I agree.
